Early Life and Background

Saif Ali Khan was born on August 16, 1970, in New Delhi, India into the royal Pataudi family.  His mother Sharmila Tagore, is a renowned actress who worked in both Hindi and Bengali cinema.

And his father, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, was the Nawab of Pataudi and a legendary cricketer, and former Indian cricket captain. His family has a rich heritage; His father was the last Nawab of Pataudi, and he comes from a lineage that includes notable figures in both sports and film.

Saif has two younger sisters, Saba Ali Khan and Soha Ali Khan, who are also involved in creative fields.

Education


Saif Ali Khan’s education took him through several prestigious institutions. He attended The Lawrence School in Sanawar, Himachal Pradesh.

Later attended Lockers Park School and Winchester College in England.

Despite his academic background, he admits to not being academically inclined during his time at school.

 

Beginning Career & Acting Career

 

Despite his royal lineage, Saif faced struggles early in his career as he transitioned into Bollywood.

After returning to India post-education, Saif worked briefly in advertising before transitioning into acting. His debut came with the film “Parampara” in 1993. Although it did not achieve significant success, it marked the beginning of his journey in Bollywood.
