DR. ZAKIR
NAIK was conferred the prestigious “37TH
KING FAISAL INTERNATIONAL PRIZE 2015” for ‘SERVICE TO ISLAM’, Alhamdulillah, as announced by Makkah Governer
Prince Khaled Al-Faisal (Director General) and Abdullah Al-Othaimeen
(Secretary-General) of the King Faisal Foundation at a glittering function in
Riyadh on 3rd Feb.
2015. The King Faisal Award given for the category ‘Service to Islam’ is
the most recognized and prestigious Award in the Muslim World, similar to the ‘Nobel Prize’.
Dr. Zakir
Naik is the 2nd Indian to be conferred this Award after Maulana Shaikh
Sayyid Abul-Hasan Ali Al-Hasani Al-Nadawi who shared this Award with Dr.
Mohammad Natsir of Indonesia in 1980.
The Award
Ceremony will be held under the auspices of King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, InshaAllah, on 1st March 2015, at Prince Sultan Grand Hall, Faisaliah
Center, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
This KING
FAISAL INTERNATIONAL PRIZE is an annual award conferred on “dedicated men and
women with exceptional achievements in five categories – Service to Islam,
Islamic Studies, Arabic Literature and Language, Science and Medicine – and
whose contributions make a positive difference” globally.
Also attached is the list of
recipients of the King Faisal Award for the category ‘Service to Islam’ in the last 37 years.
