Nat Sciver-Brunt is an English cricketer who competes for England across all formats of the game. She bats right-handed and bowls right-arm medium pace, recognized for her all-round skills.

She set the record for the quickest century in a women's Test match, accomplishing it in 96 balls against South Africa on December 15, 2024.

 


Natalie Ruth Sciver-Brunt, born on August 20, 1992, is an English cricketer who plays for England in every format of the game. She is celebrated as an all-rounder, excelling as a right-handed batter and a right-arm medium-pace bowler. Sciver-Brunt has reached numerous significant milestones in her career, including being the first English cricketer to achieve a hat-trick in a Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) match. The creative "Natmeg" shot, where she strikes the ball through her legs, is named in her honor.

 

Sciver-Brunt has taken on leadership roles, first captaining England in international cricket in March 2021 during a WT20I match against New Zealand. She also led England during their home WT20I series against India in September 2022, although she later stepped back to focus on her mental health. She has been appointed as England's captain for the 2025 Women's Cricket World Cup, which is set to take place in India and Sri Lanka.

 


Career Highlights:

Sciver-Brunt began her cricket journey as a teenager, playing for the Surrey club side Stoke d'Abernon and advancing through Surrey's Academy to the England Women's Academy. She made her debut for the full England team in 2013 during a limited-overs series against Pakistan. In 2014, she was among the inaugural recipients of the 18 ECB central contracts for women players.

 

She played a crucial role in the England team that triumphed in the 2017 Women's Cricket World Cup, where she established record partnerships for the 3rd and 4th wickets. Her contributions earned her recognition as one of the five Wisden Cricketers of the Year in 2018. Sciver-Brunt has consistently been a leading performer, receiving full central contracts from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

 


Early Life:

Sciver-Brunt was born in Tokyo, Japan, to her mother Julia Longbottom and her father, Richard, who is a business executive. Throughout her childhood, she also resided in Poland, where she participated in women's league football, and in the Netherlands, where she engaged in basketball. She completed her education at Epsom College in Surrey, England, and subsequently pursued a degree in sports and exercise science at Loughborough University.

 


Personal Life:

In October 2019, Sciver-Brunt revealed her engagement to fellow England cricketer Katherine Brunt. The couple tied the knot in May 2022, adopting the surname Sciver-Brunt together. On September 20, 2024, they announced that they were expecting their first child, and their son, Theo, was welcomed into the world in March 2025.
